Wellness Visits
Here at Hilton we emphasize the importance of preventative care visits for your pets. At these visits one of our veterinarians will perform a comprehensive physical exam on your pet. We may discuss and if necessary perform vaccinations your pet may need, parasite screening, parasite prevention, comprehensive blood testing, urinalysis, or other services your pet may require. This is the time to discuss with our veterinarians what preventative care treatments may be best suited for your pet. Our goal is to aid your pet in living a happy, healthy, and long life. We welcome new patients, puppies, and kittens here at Hilton!
Surgical
We offer routine surgical care for your pet here at Hilton. This includes procedures such as spaying and neutering, soft tissue surgery, or biopsy. Our surgical protocol includes a preanesthetic blood profile to ensure your pet is well enough to undergo surgery. Our surgical patients receive an IV catheter and intravenous fluids throughout their surgical procedure. During your pet’s surgery they will have dedicated continuous observation by one of our licensed veterinary technicians who will be closely monitoring your pet’s body temperature, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and heart and breathing rates. At your pet’s discharge time we will explain your pet’s post operative care instruction and go over any medications your pet may need. From check in to check out time your pet will not be left unattended.
Dental Prophylaxis and Digital Dental Radiographs
We are excited to offer digital dental radiography in addition to dental prophylaxis using state of the art equipment to assure we are providing the best quality care for your pet. Your veterinarian will perform a complete oral examination and address any oral concerns. Our veterinarians are equipped to perform minor and complex tooth extractions. Our doctor will assess your pet’s need for pain medication and/or antibiotics. Reasons for extraction may include abscess, tooth fracture, trauma, or teeth may be decayed or loose. Your pet’s teeth will then be professionally scaled and polished by one of our licensed veterinary technicians. We also offer Oravet plaque barrier sealant.
Microchipping
We are proud to offer microchipping to keep our clients’ pets safe. It is a safe procedure that inserts a tiny chip underneath your pet’s skin. The procedure is quick and relatively painless. Once a microchip is implanted, owners need to register their vital information into a database. Anytime pets are lost, a veterinarian or shelter will scan them, hoping to be able to return them back to you! Save yourself the heartache and stress of a lost pet. Microchips bring pets home.
Radiology
Radiology is a technique and diagnostic tool that we use to look inside the body in an entirely non-invasive way. X-rays allow us to create images of all the body’s organs. In other words, the use of radiology gives us a view of the internal organs in your pets’ body that we otherwise could not see. It is a valuable diagnostic tool that helps veterinarians detect and prevent illness. The use of radiology is safe, and our entire staff is highly trained. It is our goal to provide your pet with the highest level of medical care possible, and this is just one of the many ways we achieve that.
Digital Radiography
Hilton Veterinary Clinic utilizes digital radiography! This aides in making the process of obtaining X-rays of your pet more expeditious. We are then able to e-mail you or a referral veterinarian your pets x-rays within minutes!
On Site Laboratory Diagnostics
At Hilton Veterinary Clinic of Ferndale we have the ability to run extensive in-house blood work and receive the results same day. This facilitates our ability to diagnose your pet and provide the best possible treatment options. We may however recommend sending routine blood profile and urinalysis to an outside laboratory if immediate results are not warranted. Comprehensive blood screening includes gastrointestinal health, endocrine health, diabetic screening, thyroid screening, cardiovascular screening, liver and kidney screening, as well as a CBC (complete blood count). We are able to e-mail you results as soon as we receive them! Our veterinarians review all of the samples tested. If there are any concerns with your pet’s diagnostics we will discuss them with you and make sure to answer any of your questions.
